Every last Sunday of May, since the year 2000, the country experiences unprecedented activity during Chile’s Cultural Heritage Day (Día del Patrimonio) and this 2022 is especially significant, because after two years, due to the pandemic, the party will be relived in person.
The day is characterized by the opening of public institution buildings that are added with cultural activities and free guided tours. In this way, thousands of people have the opportunity to visit museums, ministries, churches, universities and palaces, in addition to enjoying an intense agenda of cultural activities in public spaces.
Every year, the Municipality of Santiago prepares itself especially, as do the communities in its neighbourhoods.
In the commune of Santiago, unmissable activities were developed, such as tours of the Consistorial Palace of the Municipality of Santiago, Santa Lucía Hill, Cousiño Palace, Posada del Corregidor Gallery, among other spaces. And in the same way, some neighborhoods organized themselves to live a beautiful day, such as Barrio Concha y Toro, San Eugenio, Yungay and Franklin.
