Event Details

The National Museum of Natural History invites visitors to the exhibition “Dinosaurs of the South of the World”, the most complete exhibition of its kind ever held in our country. This exhibition will make available to the public casts, life reproductions and also original fossils of dinosaurs in the Southern Cone of the American continent. The exhibition is the result of a joint effort by the National Museum of Natural History, BHP and the environmental consultancy Gestiona. This exhibition will make available to visitors, for the first time in history, the original fossils of all the dinosaurs discovered in Chile, some of which have achieved scientific relevance worldwide: Chilesaurus diegosuarezi (considered one of the most interesting dinosaurs discovered in recent years), Stegouros elengassen, Atacamatitan chilensis (the first Chilean dinosaur to be described), Arackar licanantay and Gonkoken nanoi (recently discovered in Magallanes). The fossils discovered, both in our country and throughout the Southern Cone of America, play a crucial role in understanding the extraordinary evolutionary plot of the dinosaurs.
