Visit Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino to see the exhibition featuring a collection of Andean colonial textiles from various museums and private collections in Peru, created during the colonial period. This exhibition is presented for the first time in Latin America, and in addition to textile art, it includes pieces of silverwork, colonial paintings, carpets, and furniture.
The pieces on loan from Peru mainly consist of tapestries and oils produced between the 16th and 18th centuries and come from institutions such as Museo de Arte Lima, Museo Pedro de Osma, and several private collections. Meanwhile, the Chilean pieces come from Museo de la Merced, Museo de Artes Decorativas, Museo Andino, and Museo Del Carmen.
