Event Details

Details This December 7th, the "Sacred Heritage Day" will be held. This is an initiative promoted by the Vicariate of the Central Zone, which aims to rescue the heritage identity of Santiago, through its churches and parishes, with a program of activities, such as guided tours, concerts and speeches. Program:
  • La Merced Basilica. 628 Merced. Guided tours at 11:00 and 14:00. The museum will be open to the public until 16:00. There will also be guided tours at 10:00 and 16:00. The church will be open from 9:00 to 19:30.
  • Santa Ana Parish. 1515 Catedral. Guided tour of the different spaces of the parish recounting historical and religious facts.
  • Santísimo Sacramento Parish. 1059 Santa Isabel. Guided tours between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There will also be a parish exhibition where our Pastoral life will be presented.
  • Metropolitan Cathedral. West side of Plaza de Armas in Santiago. 10:00 to 10:20 a.m. Prayer by the Dean of the Cathedral, Claretian Voices and the Archbishopric Folk Group - perform “Chile una mesa”, “Ven Señor de las altas montañas” and “Reina del Cielo”.
10.25 to 11.00 am. Singer Marcela Gael performs 11.00 to 12.00 pm. Performances by the Archbishop's Choir and the Orthodox Choir. * Tabernacle. Guided tours of landmarks and notable images of the parish, which is the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Carmen, Patron Saint of the Ejercito Libertador of O'Higgins and San Martín.
  • San Isidro Parish. 500 San Isidro. Sacred Heritage from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. History and tour of the Parish.
  • Basilica Corazon de Maria. 764 Zenteno .
Open from 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Guided tour of the Sanctuary. 12:00 to 13:00. Concert by Orquesta cuidadana de Santiago 14:00 to 16:00. Guided tours.
  • San Vicente de Paul Church. 1602 Alameda . Guided tour of the church. Ancient vestments, instruments, chalices, ciboria, albs, stoles, etc. will also be on display.
  • La Veracruz Church . 124 José Victorino Lastarria . Open church, with a small exhibition on the persecuted Church in the world.
“Quinteto Ventum – New Chilean Compositions: The concert lasts one hour and has artistic mediation by Constanza Arraño, musicologist. The musical style is classical music and a repertoire is addressed that includes the following works: - Cécile Chaminade (1857- 1944) – Gavotte - Maurice Ravel (1875 – 1937) – Bolero - Claude-Paul Taffanel (1844 – 1908)
  • San Lázaro Parish. 415 Alameda . From 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Pastoral exhibition. From 10:30 to 12:00 p.m. Father Alejandro will hold an exhibition with a historical framework.
  • San Ignacio Chapel. 1494 Padre Alonso de Ovalle . Guided tours between 12:00 and 17:00, where you will take a tour of the temple discovering Ignatian spirituality through history and art. Between 16:00 and 16:40, music will be played on the pipe organ.
