In the context of the Summer Heritage Day, next Saturday, January 31st, the Tourism Subdirectorate of the Municipality of Santiago invites the community to participate in a series of guided heritage routes. These tours will allow participants to rediscover the history, architecture, and urban narratives of the commune through walking tours. The event includes four thematic routes, guided by professionals in the field, designed to highlight the cultural, historical, and symbolic heritage of Santiago.

Barrio Yungay
Time: 10:00 AM
Meeting Point: Outside Quinta Normal Station, Line 5 of the Santiago Metro.
This tour invites you to discover Santiago’s largest heritage neighborhood through a journey into its history and most emblematic corners. The route includes visits and narratives around attractions such as the Museum of Education, heritage passages, the Sound Museum, and the restored San Saturnino Church, located in the traditional Yungay Square.
Caminando por el Cerro Santa Lucía

Meeting Point: Neptuno Alta Terrace, Santa Lucía Hill.
An experience that allows you to explore the historical, scenic, and urban value of one of the city’s foundational landmarks. The tour includes its terraces, monuments, and viewpoints, accompanied by narratives explaining its key role in Santiago’s development.
Misterios en la Historia de Santiago

Meeting Point: Tourism Office, Plaza de Armas.
Did you know that the current Tourism Office in Plaza de Armas occupies the same space where the dungeons of the old Public Jail of Santiago operated until the late 19th century? This route offers a journey filled with stories and enigmas, including spaces such as the Fernández Concha Portal, the Crillón Gallery, and the Municipal Theater.

A tour focused on the civic heart of the city, allowing participants to understand the historical, political, and urban evolution of Santiago, with emphasis on Plaza de Armas and the Consistorial Palace as fundamental spaces of republican life.
