This winter, the Santiago Library celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special, unmissable program designed for the whole family. From Saturday, June 21st to Sunday, July 6th, the Library's spaces will be transformed into a grand stage for free activities combining culture, art, science, literature, and entertainment for children, young adults, and adults with a child's soul.   Winter Children's and Youth Theater Festival From Tuesday, June 25th to Saturday, July 6th Tuesday to Friday: 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM / Saturday: 3:00 PM The 17th edition of this classic festival arrives with a varied program of family theater. Six productions will be presented that combine humor, literature, values, and creativity: Wonka's Mission, I Am a Plant, The Great Adventure of the Elements, Waterboy, Sailor Astronaut of the Universe, and Queen's Cake. Storytelling for children Hours: 12:00 and 4:00 pm (depending on the room) The Children's, Comiteca, and Creative rooms will feature charming stories such as Pichinco in Search of a Home, Stories to Play, Agustín Dreams, Cachupina Present: Where is Boris?, and Stories for a Fair World. Additionally, in Guaguateca, there will be special sessions for babies and children under 4 at 12:00 and 4:30 pm. Creative and participatory workshops An opportunity to learn and express yourself with activities such as:
  • Mini Pin, Chilean Flora and Fauna – June 25, 4:00 PM
  • Breaking for children and young people – June 27, 4:00 PM
  • Comic Character Design – July 2, 4:00 PM
  • Introduction to K-Pop Cover Dance – July 2, 4:00 PM
Featured Exhibitions This year's exhibitions focus on animation:
  • Zander, in the Library (Photography Room): shows episodes, making-of, and puppets from the stop-motion animated series "Zander."
  • Máscara (Media Arts Room): a short film by Matías Bárquez that reflects on childhood memories from the perspective of the autistic spectrum.
Brickday: The Grand Finale to the Holidays Saturday, July 5 | 11:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The LEGO fan community, BSLUG (Brick Santiago LEGO User Group), invites you to enjoy exhibits, building workshops, and free play spaces for a fun day for girls and boys. "Zander" Marathon Sunday, July 6 | 3:00 p.m. We close out the holidays with a screening of all 12 episodes of this acclaimed Chilean stop-motion family series, as part of the Zander exhibition at the Library.
