Event Details
Enjoy the play "Atantium: the country that did not want to stop being a country" in Matucana 100; a montage that reflects on prejudice, loneliness and artificial territory, through an acid, agile and emotional comedy about the identity crisis.
In charge of the company Equipo Teatro, founded by students of the Catholic University in 2013, the play deals with the story of an Australian, who founded a country in his backyard and since then calls himself "Emperor". After years of inviting world leaders, without ever receiving a response, the Empire of Atlantium finally receives its first official visit: the Foreign Minister of Australia. To her misfortune, she comes with an ultimatum from the government: either she lowers the flag or she goes to jail. Cornered, the Emperor will attempt something so desperate that it could spark a war. Everything is so that his country does not cease to be.
