This bookstore, which belongs to the renowned Chilean dramatist and writer Luis Rivano, is a must-visit in San Diego street. In it is possible to buy and sell books and magazines; besides you can find texts of history, literature, political sciences and art, among other specialties.
Luis Rivano founded the bookstore in 1967 after being expelled from the Carabineros (Chilean police force) and venturing into theater, an area in which he is recognized as one of the country’s most important playwrights.
The bookstore has specialized in Chilean books and international humanities literature. Since the author’s death in 2016, it has been run by three of his children, who also created an online bookstore and work to keep this iconic literary space alive in the San Diego neighborhood.
