A venue designed for cultural and knowledge transfer activities. With over 30 years of operation, it has become a place for popularizing the most diverse types of contemporary and classical artistic expressions aimed at different types of public.
Through its Movie Program, it holds three festivals and over 24 art cinema showings and theme cycles each year. The center also holds conferences, family-focused theater cycles, and workshops. It features a bookshop, two art galleries, a café and a chapel.
The Extension Center takes up the building adjacent to Universidad Católica’s head office, which up to 1988 was home to the Luis Campino Institute of Humanities. Following redesign work, in 1989, this neo-classical style property covering a total surface area of 5,400 m2 has become an architectural landmark and an example of preservation which, in an extremely harmonious manner, combines tradition with functionality.
