The lovers of the philately have a great meeting point in this traditional shop placed to the interior of the Edwards Gallery in the Historical Center of the city. It was founded in 1956 by Sergio Heise Fuenzalida and with more than 60 years of history it is a business that gives force to the identity of the traditional shopping center where it is placed. In it is possible to find postal stamps, tickets and coins of diverse countries, besides articles of collection.

On February 12, 2026, during the celebration of the 485th anniversary of the founding of Santiago, Filatelia El Penique Negro was awarded the Santiago Medal, a recognition bestowed upon it “for its outstanding career, its connection to the cultural identity and history of this commune, as well as its valuable contribution to the development of tourism and commerce in the Santiago commune”.
