Located on one side of the historical Basilica of La Merced, which dates back to the 18th century.

In line with the mission of the Order, this museum, which belongs to it, sets out to provide a socio-cultural contribution, presenting itself as a bridge between the community and art.

The historical presence and tradition of the Mercedarian order in Chile, dating back to 1549, is embodied in this splendid museum that offers visitors a unique experience. Its collection features numerous and varied objects not only linked to Catholic religious themes, but also to American archaeology and Easter Island.

The exhibition is organized according to the following themes:

The spirits of Rapanui

The Order of Mercy and its liberating journey

The meeting between two worlds

The emblems of the Faith

Kings Gallery

The artistic miscegenation

The child God in family devotion
