Avenida Matucana


This avenue is the heart of one of the most important cultural area of Santiago. It starts at the Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins avenue and along its extension contains a varied offer of museums and cultural centers, besides the Portales and Quinta Normal parks.

Across this route, is possible to visit the Cultural Center Matucana 100, the Santiago Library, the Memory Museum and Human Rights, and those museums located inside the Quinta Normal park, as the Natural History, the Railway, Contemporary Art and Science and Technology.

Thanks to the rich offer of cultural activities, the institutions in Matucana street and nearby, they organized in the cultural project “Santiago Poniente”, to promote activities such as theater, film, workshops and books, as well as expanding the access of the heritage and history of this area to everyone.
