A trip to the past is what this emporium proposes, decorated as a traditional neighborhood store from the beginning of the 20th century, where it is possible to purchase supplies for the home, such as toiletries, preserves, as well as sourdough bread, Chilean sweets, pastry confections, sausages, cheeses, eggs and empanadas, among other foods.
But it also promises an experience, because if you visit you can see an old cash register machine, the wooden inn, ideal for chatting with the hosts; music and period characterizations.
It operates on the first floor of the Larraín Palace, a building that dates back to 1913, but whose history dates back to the purchase of the land by Patricio Larraín Gandarillas in 1878, who was a Chilean farmer who contributed his trees to the creation of the Parque Quinta Normal and is the father of Chilean beekeeping. And Emporio Moneda operates in one of the rooms that the original family lived in for almost 60 years.
Without a doubt, Emporio Moneda is a heritage rescue project with a look that appeals to the nostalgia of old neighborhood stores and aspires to become a unique attraction in the sector that hosts it.
