Visit the Plaza de Armas Tourist Office, this exhibition that invites you to discover the new museum set spaces that presents in an educational way the history of Santiago, the territory it occupies and its historical significance, since pre-Inca times and whose rooms invite you to reflect on the history of the city, through a wide variety of devices, including models, historical maps, cartographies and 3D prints, paintings, dioramas, and pre-Hispanic pieces. The Casa Colorada was built in the 18th century for the President of the First Government Board, Mateo de Toro y Zambrano, and is a faithful witness to the capital's colonial period. It was declared a National Monument in 1960. The Casa Colorada Museum of Santiago closed its doors due to the damage suffered by the 2010 earthquake and after a period of restoration, it reopened to the public in September 2024, with a renewed curatorship, new spaces and an inclusive proposal.
