Overview
Placed near by libertador Bernardo O´Higgins Avenue and in the center or heart of downtown area, at present Camilo Henríquez theatre is a recognized dissemination of culture and thatre art development .
It´s history is part of the stage memories of Chile. Between 1956 and 1974, Isidora Aguirre, Luis Alberto Heiremans, Sergio Vodanovic, Antonio Acevedo Hernández and Alejandro Sieveking were some of the dramatist that presented their works and “La pérgola de las flores” written by Isidora Aguirre and Francisco Flores del Campo was performed for the first time, the premiere was on april the 9th in 1960.
Big national actors like Héctor Noguera, Anita Reeves, Liliana Ross, Alfredo Castro and many others made their debut on this stage, just like distinguished directors among them Víctor Jara, Eugenio Dittborn and Eugenio Guzman.
It counts with 213 armchairs on the first and second floor, four actor´s dressing rooms and modern underground toilets, it´s new generation technic illumination and sound infraestructura, allows to receive professional staging.
Thanks to a FONDART Project, in 2014 Camilo Henríquez Theatre was reincorporated to the metropolitan area cultural network, recovering the image that had since its inauguration in 1956.
