The Persa Biobío is one of the most traditional, picturesque popular markets in the capital, with around 300 commercial premises of all kinds, selling new and second-hand products as sundry as antiques, beauty products, footwear, computer items, sports, furniture, and musical instruments, among others.
This market dates back to the 1940s, when a small group of shopkeepers set up in this sector of the quarter known as Barrio Franklin.
Both this market and the quarter itself lie in spaces with a long popular tradition and trading activity, a heritage spot visited each weekend by thousands of people.
